The Association of Ukrainian Banks (AUB) proposes to prolong the moratorium on taxation of incomes of individuals from their deposits in banks till January 1, 2008. That was reported by the agency Interfax-Ukraine with reference to the AUB press service.

According to its information, the Bill "On Emendation of the Law "On Taxation of Incomes of Individuals", envisioning prolongation of this moratorium, has been brought in a profile Parliament committee.

In accordance with the Law "On Taxation of Incomes of Individuals", since January 1, 2005, incomes of individuals from bank deposits will be imposed by a tax in the size of 5% of the sum of the interests added.

President of AUB Oleksandr SUHONIAKO considers that it may lead to slowing of a growth rate of deposits of individuals and an outflow of attracted funds of natural persons from the bank system.
